Goodrich Community Primary School

Our Vision & Values

Welcome to our school!

Goodrich is a large, friendly school in London where Everyone belongs and all succeed.

The school, which was built in 1886, is made up of four buildings. Over time there have been schools for all ages on this site, including a Secondary girls’ school, a one-form Infants school and even adult education in the Lythgoe building. We are now a three-form entry primary school.

Vision and Values

At Goodrich, we welcome and celebrate diversity to provide an inspirational inclusive environment where pupils feel happy, valued and secure in their learning. We aim to provide a well-rounded education, including in the areas of well-being and social development, of the highest quality.

Goodrich is: ‘The place where everyone belongs and all succeed!' We believe that academic excellence is best placed within an exceptional, stimulating curriculum i.e., secure foundations in EYFS; and every child in KS2 having access to a classical instrument.  Music, Mandarin PE and Art (including pottery) are taught from Nursery to Year 6.

All of our children make systematic progress that is designed to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge needed for every transition in school.

Our broad and balanced curriculum places great emphasis on subjects as individual disciplines that are underpinned by a progressive and sequenced programme that is heavily supported by engaging and enhanced experiences. This ensures that:

All of our children make systematic progress that is designed to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge needed for every transition in school;

    • We value the individuality of pupils whilst we build confidence and resilience for every child to reach their potential.

    • We provide a wide range of experiences and platforms for the children to develop that sense of curiosity to explore the world.

    • We inspire our children to have a love for lifelong learning to succeed in all they do.

    • Our children become responsible, confident members of a global society who can apply their experiences at Goodrich to their future lives in modern Britain.

We also recognise that as important as learning in the classroom is, the work that goes on outside the classroom has an equally important part to play. Forest schools and an extensive extra-curricular offer ensure that all our students have the opportunity to develop their skills as independent and resilient learners.

We also truly believe that we enhance children’s life chances through a stimulating, supportive parental partnership that nurtures each child to achieve their full potential.
